Liberty Victoria uses email to communicate with past and present members and volunteers, the media and government representatives. You can unsubscribe / opt-out from receiving emails at any time by the unsubscribe link in email sent you, or by contacting Liberty Victoria through email or phone.

We endeavour not to use or disclose your personal information in a way that is contrary to your expectations. We may disclose information about specific members or volunteers in line with their clearly expressed preferences about the ways in which they are prepared to assist Liberty Victoria achieve its objectives. 

Financial and personal information connected to payments may be collected or stored by a third-party payment processor such as e-Way and PayPal and is subject to their terms and policies. 

We provide name and contact details of members of Liberty Victoria's policy committee and management committee to the members of these committees for committee use only. 

We may also disclose your personal information if required by law. 

Liberty Victoria does not and will not sell or share personal information, membership or mailing lists stored in our databases.   

Disclosure of personal information overseas 

There are some circumstances were we may provide your personal information to an organisation located outside of Australia. These organisations work with us to provide professional services in data storage. The countries these organisations are based in include United States of America. 

Web traffic information is disclosed to Google Analytics when you visit our websites. Google stores information across multiple countries.  

When you communicate with us through a service such as Facebook or Twitter, the social network provider and its partners may collect and hold your personal information overseas. 

How we hold your personal information 

We take steps to protect the security of the personal information we hold from both internal and external threats by: 

  • Internal access to personal information is restricted and granted only for the purposes of conducting the affairs of Liberty Victoria. 

  • Liberty Victoria website, online database of membership, volunteer mailing list subscriber details and other personal information is secured using SSL.  

We destroy personal information in a secure manner when we no longer need it.
