Humane, Practical and Effective: A Dialogue on Alternative Asylum Seeker Policies

A Young Liberty for Law Reform Event - Trades Hall: 6.30pm, 4 September 2013

Panel discussion with speakers, Jessie Taylor (Victorian Bar, Senior Vice-President of Liberty Victoria), Dr Savitri Taylor (La Trobe University) and Dr Anne McNevin (Monash University) will examine the legal and policy issues with the current Asylum Seeker policy options offered by the major parties and open up a positive dialogue about realistic alternatives.

Liberty Victoria has a new initiative called the Young Liberty for Law Reform (YLLR) which aims to draw upon the capacity and desire of young professionals and students to work on law reform and advocacy campaigns and the commitment of Liberty Victoria to engage with younger members of the community, as volunteers and members. This event is the first project of the YLLR Refugee Pod.
