‘Deplorable’: Police accused of sharing photos of ex-AFL coach Dean Laidley in custody

Liberty Victoria, the state’s leading civil liberties advocate, condemned the social media circulation of two private photos, saying it was a “deplorable breach of privacy”.

“The transphobic overtones only serve to make the breach even more egregious,” Liberty Victoria tweeted.

“Not good enough @VictoriaPolice: we are watching,” the council wrote.

“Please deal with this unacceptable incident swiftly & properly.”
