Constitutional Changes

A clean copy and a copy showing the proposed Liberty Victoria constitutional amendments can be accessed at the links above.

The proposed amendments will:

Create a new structure which will acknowledge and integrate the outstanding work of the Rights Advocacy Project into the official structure of the Victorian Council for Civil Liberties (Liberty Victoria).

This includes

  • Recognising the Rights Advocacy Project (RAP) as a separate Committee of Liberty Victoria
  • Streamlining our current Management and Policy Committees into one General Committee to reflect our existing meeting structures.
  • Adding positions for the Chair and Deputy Chair of RAP on the General Committee
  • Creating an Executive Committee consisting of Office Bearers of Liberty Victoria

It will also

  • Update current annual subscription dates currently starting on 1 July each year to instead start on the day of payment of membership fees.
  • Clarify the rules around general meetings to enable them to be held online
