Controversial Spent Convictions Bill passes Vic parliament

Liberty Victoria president Julia Kretzenbacher welcomed the move.

“Liberty Victoria is incredibly happy that this Bill has passed,” she said.

“Victorians now have the same rights as other Australians to have convictions spent.

“This will make a huge difference to Victorians’ lives, aid in rehabilitation and ensure that people are not discriminated against on the basis of a spent conviction.”
