Michael Stanton is a barrister with a focus on appellate criminal and administrative law. Prior to becoming a barrister Michael was a youth and disability worker, researcher and associate at the Court of Appeal, and a duty lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid.
He competed his Masters in Human Rights Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and he has a particular interest in the operation and effect of the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006.
Michael was elected President of Liberty Victoria in November 2021 and served as President of Liberty Victoria Until November 2023.
