Sophie Stafford is a barrister who practices in criminal law and quasi-criminal law.
Prior to becoming a barrister, Sophie practiced as a solicitor advocate for five years in private criminal defence firms. Her practice focused on indictable crime as well as Royal Commissions, coronial inquiries, coercive hearings and professional disciplinary matters.
Sophie's involvement with Liberty Victoria commenced in 2013 when she was a founding member of Liberty Victoria's Rights Advocacy Project (previously Young Liberty for Law Reform).
She is a member of the Policy Committee and the Criminal Justice Working Group.
