Martin is a barrister at Crockett Chambers, Melbourne who practices in all areas of criminal and quasi-criminal law. He also appears in public and civil law matters.

Martin is interested in post-sentence and therapeutic options such as Drug Court, Assessment and Referral Court, and Koori Court. He is also interested in matters involving issues of capacity, fitness to stand trial, and mental impairment.  

Martin became a member of the Liberty Victoria Management Committee in 2017 and a member of the Policy Committee in 2018.  He is also a national board member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law (ANZAPPL).
